The revision of the Student Handbook was set on October 12, 2017 at Alba Hall to update information and provisions that need necessary changes. The revision was set to have a basis for the improvement of the quality of services to the students.

Engr. Edmundo A. Obiña, University Director for OSAS, and Dr. Ambrocia A. Gaffud, University Registrar, headed the revision of the Student Handbook. Other participants involved in the revision were the Campus Academic and Related Affairs (ARA) Directors, Campus Registrars, Campus Student Affairs and Services Directors, and Campus Guidance Counsellors.

Initially, significant changes in the revision of the Student Handbook include the admission policies for Graduate Students as well as foreign students. Specifically, the provision that Graduate Students shall maintain a General Weighted Average of 2.0 was omitted. According to Ms. Lilibeth L. Sanchez, the University and Campus Guidance Counsellor, the said provision was omitted because it is a retention policy.

Another revision made was on the policies in the validation of subjects and the policy in securing Leave of Absence (LOA).

Some minor changes made were the grammatical structure and terminologies of specific provisions in the Student Handbook.

The first revision of the Student Handbook was set in 2010 and was approved by the Board of Regents (BOR). In 2015, concerned committee on the revision of the Student Handbook came up with a bound handbook but without approval of the BOR. There was also a revision made in 2016 but it was not finished as mentioned by Engr. Obiña.

The revision of the Student Handbook will pursue until October 13, 2017.
