School of Veterinary Medicine

The lsabela State University, through Board Resolution No.11, Series of 1987 offered the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Program. The curricular program started offering a 6-year ladder type (AAH - BSAH - DVM) under the Department of Animal Science of the College of Agriculture. ln 1993, the first batch of graduates were conferred with the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree through the College of Agriculture.
With the success of the first batch, the program has attracted many students that resulted in the tremendous increase of enrolment. The graduates have already made a record in the Veterinary Licensure Examination for their exemplary performance and in their chosen paths, not only in the region, but also nationwide,
ln 2000, the curriculum was revised following the 6-year straight jacket program in compliance with the recommendations of CHED - TPAE - Veterinary Medicine consisting of a 2-year preparatory Veterinary Medicine, Curriculum and a 4-year professional Veterinary Medicine curriculum. ln compliance with Republic Act 9268 known as the Philippine Veterinary Medicine Act of 2004 and CHED Memorandum Order Nos. 37 series of 1998, the lsabela State University Board of Regents approved the creation of the School of Veterinary Medicine to operate as a separate degree granting the unit from the College of Agriculture by virtue of Board Resolution No. 14 series of 2004. The renaming of the School to College of Veterinary Medicine was recommended by PRC Board of Veterinary Medicine and CHED RO2 during their visit last October 2006.
