Welcome to College of Engineering
The College of Engineering today has dramatically metamorphosed from a mere department of the then College of Agriculture, Forestry and Engineering where the Agricultural Engineering Program was first offered in 1973. With the continuous increase in its enrolment, it was later weaned from its department status to become Institute of Agricultural Engineering in 1980 and later the School of Engineering through Board Resolution No. 14, series of 1987. Inevitable expansion of its course offerings to cater to the manpower demands of the region gave birth to the offering of the Bachelor of Science in Food Engineering which then qualified the School to be elevated into the status of College of Engineering that it has become today. At present, it is offering three (3) baccalaureate courses and one (1) masters degree.
In 2001, the offering of the Master of Science in Agricultural Engineering was started in the university with the ultimate objective of verticalizing the program and catering to the professional advancement of Agricultural Engineers in the region. The offering of the doctoral program would be of great possibility in the future. In the same year, Information Technology courses through a tie-up program with a private company, GMAP was accommodated at the college as one of its department. Now, these Information Technology courses are institutionalized under the newly established School of Information Technology.
As a college known for its academic dominance, it has spearheaded significant events that contributed to the development of its students, faculty and alumni. It has already hosted Regional Conventions of Agricultural Engineers. It is conducting yearly review classes of its alumni for the Agricultural Engineering Licensure Examination, and has even opened its doors to interested reviewees who graduated from other State Colleges and Universities in and outside of Region 02. This may eventually lead to the establishment of a review center in Agricultural Engineering in the region.
It has already attained many significant accomplishments of national prominence, notably its exemplary performance in the board examination, which contributed into the making of the well-known college that it is now today. Recently, it has been awarded as Center of Development in Agricultural Engineering and the same program accredited Level III Status by AACCUP.
